Lineage Matters
Bruno Walace Ferreira is the Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Ferreira Family Fight Academy. He is also a Professional Cage Fighter. His Professor is Cristiano Titi Lazzarini, a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Professional Cage Fighter with Gracie Bara. Both actively compete and have years and years of competition experience. Ask us more about our lineage and if you're considering a school, ask about their lineage. Lookup the head instructor to find out if they are a legitimate instructor. These credentials take years and should be taught by professionals or approved under a professional. Who is your Professor?

History
Our logo you see on the page is a representation of Professor Bruno's many skills as a cage fighter and the colors of the Brazilian The flag. We now have our BJJ Competitor Team Logo. The logo is surrounded by a band of Jagunço hats, representing our team. The black jaguar and python you see throughout are academy logo, BJJ comp team logo and our event logo are predators in Brazil and both animals represent the skill you see in the cage, on the mats and the skills Professor Bruno possesses. Professor Bruno Walace Ferreira is an international competitor with multiple Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt podium finishes. He is a light heavy weight and welter weight champion in cage fighting. Professor Bruno's knowledge is vast, as he has been training in Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since he was a child. He applies real world application to each class, as well, as the competitive aspects of combat sports, being a lifelong competitor himself. His two philosophies are that one must be a well rounded martial artist, training both striking and jiu jitsu and the other is one must become a black belt in life in addition to on the mats.

Jagunço Jiu Jitsu Team
Our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu team is Jagunço Jiu Jitsu Team. We are registered with IBJJF the Internation Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation. To pay homage to Professor Bruno’s life as a competitor we decided to name our BJJ competitors after his nickname his Professor gave him during his competitive career “Jagunço." The meaning is assassin or armed band of bodyguards.

Jiu Jitsu Fundamentals Class for Beginners and up (Adults & Teens 13Â years and older)
Traditional Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (Gi)
Students will focus on the fundamentals of Jiu Jitsu, building a foundation to apply the techniques one has to learn to build up to grappling with fellow students. All levels will attend these classes and be pared appropriately by Professor Bruno. Please bring mouth guard. Students are required to wear a gi, which can be purchased through FFFA.
Adult Kickboxing/Muay Thai (13Â yrs and Older)
Dive Right In
Kickboxing is a group of stand-up combat sports based on kicking and punching, historically developed from karate mixed with boxing. Kickboxing utilizes a 4-point striking system. Kickboxing is practiced for self-defence, general fitness, or as a contact sport. Please bring your own boxing gloves, 16 oz boxing handwraps, shin guards and mouth guard.

Muay Thai (Thai Boxing) utilizes the 8-point striking system (punches, kicks, knees, elbows). Please bring your own 16oz boxing gloves, boxing handwraps, shin guards, mouth guard.

Where Students Come First
Your membership allows you to train 6 days a week in our facility, which offers everything from Brazilian Jiu JItsu Fundamentals to Cage Fighting. Professor Bruno has been practicing Mixed Martial Arts for over 20 years. He is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Kickboxing. Professor Bruno trained under Professor Cristiano Titi Lazzarini of Gracie Bara Centro in Brazil, Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Jiu Jitsu gold medalist, with a professional cage fighting record of 10-3. Professor Bruno also trained under Wilson Peterson of BH Fight in Kickboxing and Muay Thai. He trained law enforcement in his home city of Belo Horizonte, Brazil, where he judged, refereed and competed in professional fights. He has also competed in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitions at home and here in the U.S. at the American Cup, only to win first place against fellow black belts. You will not find someone of Professor Bruno's skill level unless you go to a larger city like Sacramento, San Francisco or Los Angeles. Come by and visit our Mixed Martial Arts academy during regular business hours in Ukiah on School Street, directly behind the courthouse. Or visit our original location in Lakeport on South Main Street next to Chevron PowerMart. We have a new location in Windsor, located in the Windsor Palms Plaza II.
